Food from sustainable, regional and seasonal sources

Our ingredients come from producers whose work we know, appreciate, and are happy to support. It's important to us where something comes from, how it's produced, and the natural rhythm of its yield. We cook and bake seasonally, regionally, and with as little packaging as possible, reducing waste, using reusable products, and prioritizing everything that comes directly from the local area.

Our bread comes fresh daily from the Domberger bread factory – long-fermented doughs, baked by hand in Berlin-Moabit.

We source our food through Terra Naturkost, a Berlin-based organic wholesaler that collaborates with small farms in Brandenburg and the surrounding area.

Milk, yogurt & eggs come from farms that care about animal welfare:

We source our eggs from mobile chicken coops – it doesn't get more humane than that.

The cow and calf milk comes from the Louisenhof farm near Chorin – where the cow and calf stay together.

We buy sheep's milk yogurt at the market, fresh and in returnable glass jars.

Our cheeses come from small, artisanal cheese dairies – including the Daniel Mayer dairy in Charlottenburg.

We are particularly pleased with our regional confectionery classics:

Wald's famous Königsberg marzipan – handcrafted in Berlin for generations

Chocolate by Erich Hamann – a Berlin institution since 1928

Bock & Gardener jam – traditionally cooked, with lots of fruit and little sugar

Our apples come from the Berlin area, our honey directly from Rolf's bees, which are located in the Tiergarten itself.

We are convinced that good food is never anonymous. That's why we like to tell you where our products come from and why we do things exactly this way – and not any other way.
