An air raid destroys large parts of the Hansaviertel; the post-war years are marked by gaps and temporary structures.
Marquina 1961 Oil Cruet – Rafael Marquina for Nanimarquina
The Marquina 1961 oil cruet is a classic of Spanish design. Designed in 1961 by Rafael Marquina, the iconic oil cruet combines precise function with a distinctive, timeless shape.
The Marquina 1961 is also in daily use at our Café Tiergarten. We use it directly when serving to refine dishes with a good olive oil – for example, soups or our buffalo mozzarella. That's exactly why we like it: the oil can be dispensed precisely and controlled, and the cruet looks just as good on the table as it does in the kitchen.
The characteristic spout was designed to guide drops back into the vessel. A well-thought-out detail that makes the Marquina a functional everyday object and a design object at the same time.
The Oil Cruet Marquina 1961 is now manufactured by Nanimarquina. A special piece for all those who appreciate good olive oil, good food, and well-thought-out design – used by us in the café and selected for your home.
