An air raid destroys large parts of the Hansaviertel; the post-war years are marked by gaps and temporary structures.
February 28, 2026, Wine tasting with Jule, Kai & Malte from the Schätzel 3000 winery
Please note: this event will be held in German & English
Jule, Kai & Malte from the Schätzel 3000 winery are bringing three exceptional wines – and an alcohol-free surprise – to Café Tiergarten. All wines are matured in wooden barrels under flor – a natural layer of yeast that protects the wine and gives it a special depth, salinity and structure.
Café Tiergarten x Schätzel 3000: Fermented Design
What does it feel like to transform a traditional winery into a future-oriented company? How do art, design, and wine inspire and influence each other? We'll explore these questions together in a conversation and creative exchange. We'll also taste a curated selection of wines and unveil a new, as-yet-unreleased non-alcoholic beverage for the very first time.
Schätzel 3000
Schätzel stands for regenerative viticulture in the Nierstein Red Slope.
Kai & Jule have transformed a 650-year-old family winery into an international team for modern wine. In their vineyards, they promote biodiversity through a complex syntropic system involving sheep and trees. Their approach to winemaking combines natural processes with sensitive craftsmanship; the wines mature for up to ten years under flor, without added sulfites.
Art Direction & Design
The art direction and design are by Malte Müller. He is a graphic designer, programmer, poet, and owner of the design agency WAF GmbH in Hamburg. In 2024, he joined Schätzel 3000 to help shape the transformation of a traditional winery into a future-oriented company. He embodies many aspects of the 3000 philosophy, which envisions the future: freedom first.
